Marina Das Flores, Brazil
Marina Das Flores is in Porto Alegre (Happy Harbour) in the southern Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. The city lies on the eastern bank of the Guaiba Lake where five rivers converge to form a huge freshwater lagoon. The marina is on the Jacui river. Porto Alegre is the 4th largest state capital in Brazil and as you would expect the city can provide all you want from bars, restaurants, shops and markets.
Comunications are good by road and the Salgado Filho International airport is just 15 minutes from the marina.
The marina opened in 2005 and is growing with more facilities being added. Shelter is very good and 24 hour security is in operation. The marina has a very good Bistro restaurant.
Porto Alegre is well known for its diverse nightlife and the city's clubs, pubs, bars and restaurants provide entertainment for a wide range of tastes and budgets, going from the cheap, traditional beer-'n-bite in a corner bar to classy nightclubs. If dining out try one of the most famous foods of Brazil, churrasco (slow grilled and roasted meat) which originated in Rio Grande do Sul.
