Marinas in Algarve
The Algarve is Portugals southern coast that runs around Cape St Vincent and north along the west coast for about 50 kilometres. This section of the site though just covers the southern Potuguese coast.
The Algarve has so much to offer the visiting yacht, the sea is warm, the climate is wonderful and the holiday villages, hotels and luxury resorts are superb places to relax after a long run south. The Algarve’s beaches are among the best in the world as are the golf courses all 30 of them! The 150 kilometres of coastline offers all types of stop overs from busy large Mainas to small fishing villages or just coves which make pleasnt anchorages.
Communication is good by rail and road and Faro airport provides international flights to the rest of Europe.
One hazard on this coast are the many large fishing nets some of which are over a mile long and may not be well marked. Tuna nets can also be found but are not as many as in the past. Pots can be found around the whole Portuguese coast and are often poorly marked and often lie in the marina entrance approach.
