Marinas in Costa Azahar
Costa del Azahar (Spanish for Orange Blossom Coast) or Costa dels Tarongers (Catalan for Orange tree Coast) is the name for the coast of the provinces of Castellón and Valencia in Spain, from Alcanar to El Verger, Denia. This part of the Spanish coast is less comercialised than other Costa tourist areas but the coast offers lots of fantastic beaches and small seaside towns such as like Vinaros and Benicarlo.Go a few miles inland from the coast and you find yourself in yet another world with hills, mountains, orange and olive groves and lovely little towns and villages like Cervera del Maestre, Canet lo Roig, Sant Jordi, San Rafael del Rio and Chert - and hardly a tourist in sight.
The largest city on the coast, and the third largest in Spain is Valencia. Following the announcement that the America's Cup would be held in Valencia in 2007, the port made major changes in which the port was divided into two parts, one part remaining unchanged while the other section would be used exclusively for the 33rd America's Cup festivities. The city is also famous for its traditional dish of Paella
Other well known towns and resorts on the Costa del Azahar include Peñíscola, Benicàssim, Castellón de la Plana, Sagunt, Valencia, Cullera, Gandia, Denia, and Xàbia.
The sailing along the coasts is easy with plenty of marinas and anchorages meaning passages without the need of overnight sailing. Our marina guide will give you details of marinas on this coast and its ajoining neighbours the Costa Blanca and the Costa Dorada
