Marinas in Costa Dorada

The Costa Dorada, meaning the Golden Coast, stretches from Blanes at the southern end of the Costa Brava down to the Ebro Delta and is another of Spains popular tourist destinations. Many large holiday resorts can be found along the coast but there are still many unspoilt fishing villages and inland the countryside has plenty of quiet villages dedidcated to producing some of the countries finest wines such as the strong reds from the Priorat.

The Costa Dorada , or Daurada in Catalan, is about 6,283 square kilometers in land area and has 10 counties and 183 municipalities. Its capital is the city of Tarragona. Costa Dorada is composed of twelve zones namely Altafulla, Calafell, Cambrils, Coma-Ruga, El Vendrell, Hospitalet Infant, L Ametlla de Mar, La Pineda, Miami Platja, Montbrio del Camp, Salou, and Tarragona.

The coast here is less rugged than its northern neighbour the Costa Brava and there are plenty of safe marinas from which to explore this beautiful part of Spain. Travel throughout the region is good by road, rail or air. Many marinas on the coast do get very crowded during te peak season so calling ahead is advisable
