Marinas in UK Wales
Wales or Cymru in welsh is a country that is part of the United Kingdom bordered by England to its east, and the Atlantic Ocean and Irish Sea to its west. The country is divided into 22 administrative ares one of which is Anglesy an island off the north west coast of Wales connected to the mainland by two bridges.
Wales has a population estimated at three million and is officially bilingual (Welsh and English). The capital and largest city is Cardiff on the south coast. Currency Sterling (the British Pound).
The coast line is mainly rugged but there are many large protected inlets and good marinas that provide excellent shelter. The tides on this coast are large and fast and can proove a problem for slower vessels so passage planning is important to make sure you take advantage of them especially if trying to make a locking to enter a marina.

Communications with the rest of the UK are good with the main road artery along the South Wales coast, the M4 motorway, linking to England and eventually London. In North Wales the A55 expressway performs a similar role along the north Wales coast linking with England, principally Chester. The main north-south Wales link is the A470 which runs from Cardiff to Llandudno. Cardiff International Airport is the only large and international airport in Wales, offeringroutes nationally and to European and North American destinations, located some 12 miles (19 km) south-west of Cardiff city centre, in the Vale of Glamorgan. The country also has a extensive railway system and several ferry routes to Ireland.
