Marinas in UK West Coast
The west coast of England stretches south from the border of Scotland down to the northern Welsh border, the North West, and then from the southern Welsh border down to Lands End, the South West.
The North West of England is one of the nine official regions of England, and comprises of five counties – Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, and Cheshire. The whole of the coastline is on the eastern side of the Irish Sea. In the middle of the Irish Sea is the Isle Of Man which we have included in our UK West Coast section.
The South West of England is another region of England and its northern coast from Wales to Lands End includes the counties of Gloucestershire, Bristol, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall. The coast line is on the Bristol Channel and the Celtic sea. The south west region is the largest of the nine English regions. The southern coast of the South West is in our UK South Coast section
The whole coast offers varied sailing areas and many well maintained and sheltered marinas. The coast also allows access to rivers and the countries extensive canal system and many marinas can be found inland in non coastal towns and cities.
Wales is also on the west coast of the United Kingdom and this is a separate location in our marina guide.
