Marigot Bay Marina, Saint Lucia
Marigot Bay Marina is situated on the scenic west coast of St Lucia, just a few miles south of Castries, and is an official port of entry to the island. The harbour is used as a hurricane hole meaning that this makes the harbour an all year round safe haven. Many of the berths are reserved for super yachts with one for 76m yachts and two for 48m yachts
Many of the shops on St Lucia provide duty free shopping including the chandlery. Within the marina resort is a bank, ATM, supermarket and bakery.
The nearby beaches, great Caribbean weather and variety of hotels makes tourism very important, and many tourists like to stroll around the marina with its bars and reataurants. The Discovery resort with bars restaurants and rooms is close to the marina. Airport transfers, taxis, carhire etc can all be found on site. There are many tours to be found to discover the islands heritage and its flora and fauna. In 1967 this picturesque bay caught the eye of film makers who used it as a Caribbean location for the filming of the original Dr Dolittle starring Rex Harrison, but dont go digging out your old copies of the film, much has changed since then.
Anchorage
Anchorage is prohibited within the bay, though there are 20 mooring bouys.
The Entrance
Enter along the 48 metre wide bouyed channel and the marina is situated in the south east corner of Marigot Bay. There is plenty of turning room within the bay though the larger yachts are escorted in by the marina launch to aid manouvering. Berthing is stern too with a bow line.
Formalities
The marina is an entry port with customs and immigration facilities. Report to the marina office for instructions
